This album represents a personal challenge to write and record a song each month during 2018. As I’m editing this blog in April 2020 and I’m only 8 songs in you can see how that is going! I’m still gradually writing and recording as inspiration and time strikes.

The album mostly explores different aspects of love….. Romantic, unrequited, fun, fantasy, loss, longing, betrayal. It also examines themes of despair at the state of the world and the concept of getting older, realising that the bus you’re on isn’t doing a return trip.

I’ve written all of the songs here and play guitars and bass. I try to play keys but sometimes resort to programming. Ditto drums – I’m trying to learn but, right now, Superior Drummer 3 is a good friend that does a much better job than I do.

For vocals, I sometimes sing, sometimes do backing, sometimes avoid altogether. Isabella (eldest daughter) sings lead on most of these / backing on others. I’m hoping to persuade Evelyn (youngest) to take part too as she’s got an awesome voice on her and harmonises really well with her big sister. She's on one of the backing vocals and will feature more in the future. My wife is learning drums and, when she’s ready, she’ll be a very welcome addition to the recordings.
